Leading Complexity

Leaders are expected to have the skills to create and maintain structures, systems, processes, measures and incentives that optimise business performance. The reality is that most leaders stick with what has been put in place and at best tinker around the edges. There are good reasons for this – the amount of complexity and unintended consequences involved is quite staggering and epitomised in the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ rule.

At the same time, business and the marketplace constantly evolve and exert pressure for change. For example, new players may create leaner, more efficient structures or existing players may find new ways to attract and keep talented leaders. The area of Leading Complexity is unique in that it can provide a competitive advantage for businesses willing to take the risk. The amount of risk involved depends on how much change is involved and how much the desired result deviates from the current organisational status-quo and the amount of culture change involved.

Juno Consulting has created a separate arm of the business to assist with change projects that involve complexity – Leadership Mastery.
